Audi R8 named best Online Campaign in Webby Peoples Voice Awards

After a colossal 500,000 votes were cast by people around the world for their favourite sites, videos and ads in the Webby People's Voice Awards. The global Web community voted GT's Audi R8 as Best Online Campaign of the year.

"The Webby Awards honours the very best of the internet," said David-Michel Davies, executive director of The Webby Awards. "Audi R8's win is a testament to the skill ingenuity, and vision of its creators."

Hailed as "the Internets highest honour" by the New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honouring excellence on the Internet, including Websites, interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile Websites.

The Webby Awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 550-person judging academy whose members include Internet co-inventor Winton Cerf, R/GA's Chief Bob Greenberg, "Simpson's" creator Matt Groening, Arianna Huffington and Harvey Weinstein.

Having already been voted The Revolution Awards Agency of the Year 2008 this latest accolade is further proof that GT's 'thinking human' brand is definitely catching the eye of the global community.
